Ange (pronounced “Ang” - with a soft ‘G’) originally trained as a Sports Physiotherapist and began her jewellery career after taking a sabbatical to do an Art & Design Foundation Diploma at University of the Arts, London. Initially intending to study Architecture, she discovered jewellery making and now uses this craft to create her wearable sculptural forms.
Ange uses recycled precious metals, ethically-sourced gemstones and more recently, reclaimed wood to hand-construct her asymmetric geometric forms. It is these distinctive shapes that provide the basis for her bold art jewellery.
Inspirations
A lifelong lover of clothes and style, Ange includes Alexander McQueen, Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto amongst her design influences, alongside Brutalist architecture and modern art. Ange also draws on childhood memories of growing up in West London: whether that be of the jewellery worn by her piano teacher, playing in local parks or museum visits.
Ange’s distinctive style is defined by her use of bold geometric shapes; with variations in scale and often including elements of adjustability in the design. All of her work is handcrafted in her garden studio with most of her pieces being one-of-a-kind.
Ange creates wearable sculptures that convey her love of shapes: one-of-a-kind architectural jewellery pieces that will reflect your love of the built environment, whilst complimenting your own unique sense of style.
If you’re looking for an original commission with strong sculptural forms, that are as distinctive as they are wearable she’d be happy to work with you. Whether it’s a unique modernist wedding ring or a gift for someone who loves modern architecture, Ange can help bring your ideas to life!
Ange has had her work worn at the BAFTAs by actress Sharon Duncan-Brewster and championed by award-winning fashion bloggers That’s Not My Age and Wears My Money. She has been featured in The Guardian, The Independent and Reclaim Magazine.
Ange has also had work displayed at the Crafts Council and more recently New York City Jewelry Week.
